I discovered philately as a young man. For years, I have dedicated myself to the Buddhist practice of meditation. In the midst of the pandemic, I rediscovered philately. I was surprised to find myself in an almost meditative state of concentration while working with my stamps. I realized that it was not an ordinary concentration, but the concentration that I learned from my Masters. Fortunately, this recognition was not only mine. Others philatelists with work in spiritual disciplines discovered the same effect. I think that far from looking at pieces of paper, Meditative Philately transforms this hobby into something beyond the exercise of learning geography, history and politics. It is a way of connecting our mind, our concentration, and our being with our deepest essence. I understand that Meditative Philately is an additional dimension to this extraordinary hobby.
